Gin Blossoms HOB Orlando 2-28-19
The Sirius XM’s Lithium presents New Miserable Experience Live with the Gin Blossoms rolled into Orlando on February 28th at the House of Blues in Orlando. They are an American alternative rock band formed in 1987 in Tempe, Arizona. Gin Blossoms consists of members Robin Wilson (lead vocals/guitar) Jesse Valenzuela (guitar/vocals) Bill Leen (bass), Scott Johnson (guitar) and their newest member Scott Hessel who has been the drummer the past 6 years.
The Blossoms’ breakthrough album New Miserable Experience hit the quarter-century mark last year and went 4x platinum. New Miserable Experience is an iconic album of the 1990s with songs that remain a staple of alternative rock stations like Sirius XM Lithium. The crossover hits on New Miserable Experience played on 4 radio formats and, to date, have sold over 5 million records.
The House Of Blues was full of fans reminiscing the 90s as the Gin Blossoms play popular hits, newer music and a cover of Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead. One of the most popular songs, “Hey Jealousy” really had the crowd singing along. I spoke with several couples who detailed there following of the band and the concerts throughout the years. They certainly have a dedicated fan base that was very excited for the tour stop in Orlando.
